Yunnan College of Business Management is a fully accredited academic institution, approved by Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China and qualified to offer undergraduate bachelor degrees. However, the college was originally established as a post-secondary college in 1992. In 2004, YCBM became a full-time higher vocational college under the auspices and approval of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province. In 2014 our college is upgraded as our present undergraduate school by the approval of the Ministry of Education.

 

Our college now boasts of two campuses, one in Haiyuan, and the other in Anning. The Haiyuan campus is located in the downtown area of Kunming City, with year-round spring-like weather, and a long illustrious and storied ancient history. The Anning campus is located in the new industrial zone of central Yunnan Province. It covers a land area of 833,337 square meters with two libraries, two gyms, two standard track and field grounds, and two training buildings. The libraries book collection contains 1,450,000 paperbacks and 800,000 electrical volumes as well as 1,287 Chinese periodicals. The college has fixed assets of 1.3 billion RMB and 10,000 registered students.

 

The college has Finance, Economy & business school, Humanity School, Engineering School, Rehabilitation and Nursing School, and International School. We offer 54 majors and among the accounting, financial management, project cost, project management, international economics and trade, and marketing are bachelor degree programs. Our different colleges and schools have realized the coordinate development among economics, management, business, arts, science, law and medicine.

 

Since 2010, YCBM has the distinction of being the only institution among the same kind of colleges to be awarded the title of Provincial Demonstrative of Higher Vocational Education. In affirming the guidance of vocational educational principles, YCBM employs more than 100 professors and associated professors. The college creates graduate training mode, deepens and strengthens mode of “school-enterprise cooperation, combination between working and learning”, increases investment, adheres to build training rooms and training bases, extends and improves more than 100 in-school training rooms. Our academic institution is the first among the same kind of schools. In order to build a platform for student internships and employment, we have established a vocational educational group to build a school-enterprise of cooperative relationship with more than 200 companies. With the improvement of teaching quality, social recognition and praise, YCBM won 60 national and provincial awards in various contests and competitions in 2011.

 

 With the cooperation of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, Shenzhen Polytechnic College, E’ zhou Vocational College in Hubei Province, our school realizes extensive and deep collaboration in such fields as teacher’s training, student exchange, teaching reform and academic research. The college also stresses the importance of internationalization in higher education, and has set up cooperative programs with more than 20 universities from Britain, Korea, New Zealand, Canada, and Thailand. Our goal is to broaden the student’s viewpoint and perspective, and to build bridges for students to study abroad.
