In 1992, Mr. Suncheng and his friends established Yunnan Training School of Education and Science in East Jiaochang road, Wuhua district, Kunming city, Yunnan province.

 
From 1992 to 1994, scale and facilities were limited and the total number of teachers and students were only 300.

 

In 1995, the college was authorized to change name to Yunnan School of Business Management, and student number has already reached 1,600.
 
In November of 1997, the college began the construction (first phase) of teaching buildings and dormitories which covered an area of 45.400 square meters at # 296, Haitun Road, Wuhua District, Kunming City, Yunnan province. The construction has completed and put into use in August, 1998.
 
In 1999, authorized by Provincial Education Committee, the college began to award diploma dependently. At the same year, the college got the qualification to hire foreign experts.

 

In 2000, authorized by provincial Educational Department, the college began to enroll secondary school students. There were 3,100 students in the year of 2002.

 
In March of 2004, the college was awarded as “National Level Key Secondary School” by the Ministry of Education. On May 18 of the same year, authorized by Yunnan Provincial Government, the school was upgraded as a higher vocational college and began its new name of Yunnan College of Business Management. And in the same year, the college recruited over 700 students.

 

In January of 2005, YCBM started the second phase of construction with an expansion of 30,000 square meters. The number of students increased to more than 6800.

 

In July of 2006, the college invested 100 million RMB for its third phase of construction and over 66,667 square meters of buildings were expanded. In this phase, the college built 7 new student dormitories, the No.4 teaching building, a gymnasium and a standard size sport field with tracks. At the same year, the college obtained a special fund of 3.4 million RMB for the construction of practical training center from the Ministry of Finance, P.R.C.

 

In October of 2007, the number of students exceeded 9,200. The college signed a proposal with the government of Anning City for an area of 66.667 square meters. 
 
In 2009, 346,670 square meters of land was acquired in the vocational education zone to construct the campus. The construction started on October 15, and the infrastructure construction has gotten a level that no one has ever seen.
 
In September 2010, the first-phase construction in Anning Campus was completed; more than 20 million square meters school buildings were built. The total of 16,500 students enrolled in the college, 4,500 were on Anning Campus.
 
In August of 2011, the 2nd phase of Anning campus construction was completed. More than 7,000 students (including 2,000 technical secondary school students) moved into Anning campus. Then, there were 12,000 students on Anning campus.

 

In September of 2011, the college has completed the construction of two campuses and there were more than 20,000 students on the two campuses.
 
At the end of 2011, the college newly increased acquisition of land of368.000 square meters in Anning vocational garden. The college has reached a total area of 900.000 square meters.  

 

In March 2014, the college was granted qualification by Ministry of Education to offer bachelor degrees.
