With a network of campuses in the heart of the city and beyond, you’re never far from Sydney’s famous harbour, Opera House or beaches.

But there’s more to living in Sydney than our iconic buildings and beaches.

Our Camperdown/Darlington Campus is close to Sydney’s central business district (CBD) where you’ll find Chinatown, Darling Harbour and a labyrinth of shopping malls.

The inner-west suburbs around Camperdown/Darlington, such as Newtown and Glebe, offer a great range of small bars and restaurants.

Meanwhile, if you head to the eastern suburbs, such as Darlinghurst, Coogee or Paddington, you’re never too far from the sea and a patchwork of parks where spending a lazy Sunday afternoon doesn’t cost you anything at all.

Our own campus is rich in greenery too, with the historic Quad at its heart; it’s just one of the many reasons we were voted one of the most attractive campuses worldwide.

When you’re not exploring the city or campus, there are plenty of other things to do.

The University of Sydney Union (USU) runs more than 200 clubs and societies, including 26 cultural groups. From calligraphy to photography, Pokemon to handball, there's something for everyone. You can meet a variety of people, team up and make new friends, share your ideas and learn new skills through performances, sports and leadership opportunities. Check the USU calendar for upcoming social events. 

Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness offers a huge range of facilities, programs and events to keep you healthy and active. You can get involved in athletics, swimming, tennis, golf, hockey, soccer, rugby union, rowing, scuba diving, skiing and more.

We also have performance spaces, museums, on-campus bars, cafes and even a heritage-listed graffiti tunnel.
